Strait of Gibraltar – Hannah and David Holscher

In August 2014, Night Train Swimmers Hannah and David Holscher will swim next to each other to both complete solo crossings of the Strait of Gibraltar – a 9-mile crossing from Europe to Africa. In completing this swim, Hannah will be come the youngest American swimmer to complete a solo crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar, and only the 400th person in history to complete this swim.

Hannah is taking this opportunity to raise funding for Night Train Swimmers as well as Open Arms Daycare in La Mision, Mexico, which helps keep families together and prevent child abandonment.

You will be able to track Hannah’s swim using the “Live Tracking” link at the bottom of this page, which will start showing their progress once they begin swimming.

Sueno 88

On June 3, 2014, six swimmers will depart the Sueño Bay near La Paz, Mexico, in a continuous relay swim across the Sea of Cortez, heading for the Mexican mainland. At that point, the distance across the Sea of Cortez is approximately 88 nautical miles (101 statute miles).
